A sequence is a series of DMs with a wait before each one. Build them under Sequences in the sidebar.
Building one
- Up to 20 steps. Each waits between 1 minute and 60 days after the one before it.
- Each step is a message of up to 640 characters with up to 3 link buttons. Links are tracked.
- Messages can use personalisation tokens such as {{first_name|there}}, contact fields and bot fields.
- Set the sequence Live to start sending. Starting someone on a draft sequence does nothing.
Starting and stopping
In the Flow Builder, add an Action step and choose Start sequence or Stop sequence. The picker marks draft sequences so you know they won’t send yet.
Someone who has finished a sequence, or been stopped, starts again from step one if a flow starts it again. Someone part-way through is left where they are.
The 24-hour window
A step can only be sent within 24 hours of the person’s last message. If a step comes due outside that window, it waits and is retried every hour, and goes out as soon as they message you again.
Who’s on it
Each sequence shows how many people are active, completed or removed, and lists everyone active with their current step, when the next one is due, and whether they’re outside the 24-hour window. Remove someone from there to stop it for them.
