See every tag your account uses and how many contacts carry it. Rename a tag and it’s rewritten everywhere it’s used — on contacts, in segments, routing rules and automations — so nothing stops matching. Merge duplicates, give tags colours, and delete the ones you’re done with.

Put what you know into every message
Store the details that matter — an order number, a city, a discount code — and use them in messages and button labels with the Personalize menu. Fill them in on a contact’s profile, map them during a CSV import, or set them from a flow.

Your contacts, in your own tools
Create an API key in Settings and connect MuChat to the rest of your stack: list contacts (filtered by tag), add or remove tags, and send a DM. Sends respect Instagram’s 24-hour window, just like the inbox.

Who becomes a contact?
Anyone who comments on your posts, replies to your stories or DMs you while your Instagram account is connected — plus anyone you import.
What happens to my automations if I rename a tag?
Nothing breaks. Renaming or merging rewrites the tag everywhere it’s used — on contacts, in segments, routing rules and automations — and MuChat shows you what it will change before you confirm. Deleting a tag removes it from all of those too, so rules that filtered on it stop filtering.
Can I use contact details in messages?
Yes. Insert the first name, @username, any custom field or a bot field with the Personalize menu, and set a fallback for anyone missing that detail. If a contact and your account both have a value for the same field, the contact’s own value wins.
Can I message a whole segment?
Not as a broadcast. Instagram only lets businesses message someone within 24 hours of their last message, so MuChat doesn’t offer bulk messaging. The API can send to one contact at a time, inside that window.
Can I import contacts I already have?
Yes. Upload a CSV with an Instagram username column, up to 2,000 rows at a time. Name, tags and custom fields can be mapped too, and usernames you already have are skipped.
What does “subscribed” mean?
A yes/no flag on every contact that you control — by hand, in bulk, or from a flow’s action step. Use it in flow conditions and segments, for example to skip people who asked you to stop. Automations don’t check it unless you add that condition.
